“When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and they said to Peter and the other apostles,
‘Brothers, what shall we do?’” Acts 2:37

The Christian church was born at Pentecost, and the very first sermon ever given was by Peter, who stood with the eleven other apostles and, in a loud voice, proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Preaching holds a prominent place in the New Testament, and though it has suffered some image problems over recent years, we must insist on the unique place of preaching for several substantial reasons. From Peter’s ground-breaking exposition of the Word of God, Author and Bible teacher, Charles Price, defined the marks of good apostolic preaching, and why it is absolutely essential, despite a few modern day views to the contrary.

  • A few years ago I happened upon a sermon from Charles Price broadcast through the Living Truth TV Ministry. I was very impressed with the presentation of the message and before I knew it 40 minutes had gone by and I hardly noticed its passing. The ability to hold my attention for that length of time indicated to me that the speaker was very gifted. I began watching the program regularly and was captivated by every sermon. I then started acquiring DVD recordings of his earlier sermons to catch up on anything I had missed. I recently watched the Romans DVD series for the second time and found each sermon as fresh and interesting as my first viewing; his sermons are timeless. One really gets the feeling that God communicates His message to us through Charles Price.
